We were no longer expecting it! Roxie gave birth in early April and the newborn, observed for the first time in mid-April, was photographed in the tidal bore while exercising, sometimes accompanied by its mother, sometimes by Nina, who herself lost a calf earlier in the year and seems to be playing babysitter for this energetic mini-dolphin. The calf was observed again in early May. Furthermore, another dolphin calf was filmed on May 9 during a dive by a group from the Raie Manta Club. The mother, Thaïs, probably gave birth in late April. We welcome them to the Tiputa community!
